Twitch is my third gig in SF/SV, and I have numerous other data points from others in my network. I'd say Twitch is top 10% at least among established Bay Area tech companies.
Pay is strong, if not top of class. Talent is great on eng and product. Office and work/life balance are great as well.
Engineering brand isn't what it should be, given the talent, but there's some reason for that: lack of CTO, open-source contributions, tech marketing. Product brand is strong, at least among gaming enthusiasts.
Like any other top tech company, people complain about the smallest things.
Keep being you. Do what makes you different from Amazon.
What a mess. The recruiter was very inexperienced and messed up the whole process. My first call with the recruiter was not bad, and she mentioned we would proceed to the next steps. However, the recruiter was then completely MIA for over a month.
There was a recruiter talk, then a manager talk, then a phone screen, and finally onsite interviews. It was enjoyable and it felt more like a conversation rather than a grilling.
OA -> hiring recruiter -> technical and then I got rejected after that. It was super simple and chill. I don't know why I got rejected. Overall, I would say it was super chill and I just could have done better.
