I applied through their job portal. After a few weeks, I received an email from a recruiter to set up a call.
We connected, and the recruiter explained the details about the role and the interview rounds. I was also asked about my job experience and why I was interested in joining Uber.
After a few more weeks, I had a screening round in which I was asked to build a typical UI component in React. I struggled a bit in the middle but was able to complete it in time. The interviewer asked some React-specific questions, mostly related to performance, which I was able to answer.
After a few days, I got the result. I had cleared the screening round and was asked about my availability for four in-person rounds conducted on Zoom.
It took a while for them to schedule these rounds, but they were flexible enough to make any changes as per my availability.
The four rounds were:
Design and Architecture In the first half, we discussed a project I had worked on and was proud of. In the second half, the interviewer asked a frontend design question involving topics like API design, component architecture, and data flow.
Frontend Coding Round I was asked to build a UI component and was allowed to use any framework or Vanilla JS.
Algorithms and Data Structures (Bar Raiser) I was asked to print the order of tasks given their dependencies. It was a typical topological sorting question, but I had not been practicing these types of questions and algorithms. So, I struggled and tried my best for the hour but was not able to write a full solution.
Behavioral Round This round involved questions about my work experience, projects I had worked on, things I am proud of, and things I am not proud of. I was also asked about any particular interesting projects or situations.
My two cents for anyone appearing for this kind of interview:
