I applied through an employee referral and set up a technical phone interview a few weeks later. The company recruiter was helpful and sent links about the interview process. The phone interview went well, using an online IDE for real-time code review. I was supposed to get an in-office interview, but the hiring manager said they didn't have the headcount in the office I was applying to.
