The process had two steps: a live coding phone screen and an onsite interview.
I was initially concerned about the live coding process due to past bad experiences with other companies. However, the interview exceeded my expectations. It was clear that the interviewer focused on assessing my abilities rather than nitpicking on silly syntax.
The onsite interview was a bit unique and included two problem-solving sessions, one live coding session, and one design section. I really enjoyed the problem-solving sessions; we worked out a few very interesting problems together with the interviewers.
For the design section, I was asked to design a system from scratch and discuss scaling, product, and performance concerns.
