Pros: - Despite Uber maturing as a big tech company, there are still many interesting and impactful projects available (although it ultimately depends on your team/org). - Mid-level (or even entry-level) engineers can be entrusted with running an entire initiative, which is a great opportunity to demonstrate/grow collaboration and leadership skills. - The tech stack and tooling is decent, although a lot is built in-house, which of course means some of the skills you learn here won't be fully transferable.

Cons: Work-life balance has steadily worsened over the years due to hiring freezes/headcount reductions and increasing pressure on employees from management to work and do more, given the state of the tech job market. There's a lot of excitement from middle management about using AI, but many engineers are so bogged down dealing with incidents/operations work that we have no time to leverage AI to improve efficiency.

Cons: - Projects are often underscoped. - We're hiring/growing so fast that there are new faces in the office all the time, which makes it hard to recognize people. - The negative perception of the Uber brand on the outside makes it hard to get recognition for all the good things Uber does as a company.
