Pros

A very good place to grow technically, only if you manage to do meaningful work. If you want to expand your skills and to actually have fun while you work, a startup is a better place.

Cons

People would normally reply within one to two business days during cross-country interactions. This resulted in a very slow developer experience, and I was constantly bombarded with useless feedback in code reviews that seemed only meant to boost the reviewer's ego and help them climb the ladder.

The performance review system is very lacking. The ultimate decision is always made by higher-ups who don't trust the management in the middle.

Advice to Management

Don't hire employees if there is no meaningful work to do.

Be transparent and don't lie to your employees about assessment processes.

Too much bureaucracy in engineering.

Feels like working in a government.
