Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

I was contacted by a recruiter for the opportunity at Udemy. The entire process took about 3 weeks.

An initial phone screen by a recruitment manager was followed by a technical phone screen. Then, I was brought in for 5 rounds of onsite interviews at their SF office. I was asked OO design questions, SQL queries, Django framework questions, and JavaScript language specifics.

The interview process was a bit messy, as some of the interviewers weren't sure what position I was going for and whether anyone else was interviewing me. No one communicated with me after the 5 rounds of interviews were done, and I had to wait out in the interview room until someone eventually came in and said I could leave. Thereafter, it was radio silence, and I never heard back from the company.

I do expect to be informed of the outcome of my candidacy after spending my time going onsite. This is not professional behavior.
