Cons: There is no path to promotion unless you do as they say and get yourself in front of the right people. You have to totally play the game here. Also, major burnout. You just can’t keep up with the pace. Everyone is burnt to a crisp. So much turnover.

Pros: I love working at Udemy! For the onboarding process, the whole staff makes you feel welcome, and people went out of their way to tell me about their departments. My manager is very thoughtful and knowledgeable, and maintains an open dialogue regarding architectural choices and work division. I feel supported and inspired to succeed, and I receive constant feedback about my progress. The culture is similarly open, and there is a team that plans events and parties often. Everyone sits together in the kitchen for lunch. I feel lucky to be at Udemy!

Cons: The compensation is less competitive than other similarly-sized startups, and the salary structure is not open to negotiation.

Pros: 1. The domain itself is getting larger and larger. 2. Smart, hard-working, and nice people across the board. 3. Building an online learning platform seems to be the right decision so far.

Cons: This domain is not well-defined yet, and there are a few competitors. So if you can't embrace rapid changes, this is not the company for you.
