Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Canada

Process

I applied online. After three weeks, I received an email from the recruiter setting up an interview. She cancelled it last minute and rescheduled for the week after.

During the interview, she asked me super technical questions, though she had no technical background at all. At the end, she said since the manager works in Israel, we probably won't move forward due to the time zone difference, but she would get back to me.

I never heard from her, even though I followed up. I was ghosted.

Why do you advertise the job as remote Canada when you are looking for certain ethnicities and specific time zones? Why do you waste candidates' time interviewing?

I guess you need to interview a certain percentage of people from minority groups so you can claim you are an equal opportunity employer.

Don't waste your time on this company. It's pretty messy.
