Unity has good benefits, competitive salaries, and is overall a pretty good place to work.
Unity has been a very chaotic place to work for the last two years. Directions change often, communication within the company isn't very good, mistakes get made on T4s every year, my salary was being paid at a lower rate for a while, and HR can take a very, very long time to address needs.
Upper management spends a lot of time talking about being transparent and building trust. There has been a lot of turnover, so things may get there. But right now, the transparency has amounted to dressing up regular communications as grand acts in the name of transparency. Meanwhile, communications about our futures at the company have not been clear and have created more confusion than anything else.
It doesn't feel like a plan is being executed; it feels like decision-makers are just making stuff up as they go. Some of the mistakes lately have been just mystifying. Transparency is great, but competence is more important, I think.
