The interviewer was a senior engineer, so I was expecting some technology-related questions. However, 80% of the interview time was spent asking about every experience and every year on my resume. It felt more like a background check, as their concern was why I took a previous job and why I left another previous job. It was quite interesting when the interviewer even asked why I did not get a master's degree right after obtaining my bachelor's degree. I never thought that during an interview with an experienced professional, someone would care about something that happened over 10 years ago.
The remaining several minutes were filled with one or two behavioral questions, so it felt like they didn't care about the skills I actually have or if I could resolve problems. I'm not sure why they sent an engineer but not someone from HR if they only wanted to use the interview for background screening.
Describe your experience when you could not get along well with someone else at work, and how did you deal with it.
