The nightmare started as soon as I was passed from Google proper to Verily.

1. I was invited for an onsite interview. I was told, "Please wait 48 hours for confirmation," but I didn't receive any emails (even after badgering) until the day before I was supposed to fly out. They then informed me they were very busy and rescheduled my interview for a later date.

2. The onsite interview itself was pretty good, except that after it was over, nobody directed me where to go. The last interviewer gave me something along the lines of, "You can go home now, I guess?"

3. My point of contact told me she would call me by the end of the week to provide an update, followed by another call by the end of the following week regarding the hiring committee's decision. I never received the first call and my subsequent emails went unanswered. I didn't hear anything the following week either, and after sending a few more emails inquiring about the status, I was ignored again. It wasn't until the THIRD week that I emailed the original Google proper HR, and they were finally able to prompt my point of contact to provide some kind of update.

This kind of experience is unacceptable. I don't know if this occurs because they receive so many applicants, or perhaps they are understaffed, but I genuinely don't care. I have applied to many large companies in the Valley, and at no other place has the interview process been such a complete disaster as it was at Verily.

They're basically the same as standard Google interviews. Prepare for those.
