Not being unemployed and homeless. (Getting a paycheck).
There is an increasing trend now in engineering (June 2022) where employees who are supposed to be on vacation are increasingly checking in on conference calls, Slack messages, emails, and reports during their time off or scheduled vacation.
The whole point of vacation time is to disconnect from the always-on, burnout culture that is being fostered by leadership at Verizon.
Don't be fooled; it is becoming all about the metrics, reports, and 100 MPH+ productivity, without regard or respect for employees' vacation time or personal time away.
Cut the bullshit.
Work-life balance is going down the toilet in this company.
Life is not all about work.
Called by department employee to coordinate. No notice, within the same week window. Panel interview by six people, one of which was the hiring manager. Questions were excellent.
Applied to their website. Got a behavioral phone call in the following month. Second round invitation to Basking Ridge, NJ, where they flew me out. There was 1 behavioral interview and 1 technical interview.
I went through the super interview day. It was hosted in San Jose. The day composed of 3 interviews: * A technical interview that was not so technical * Two HR interviews for behavioral testing
