VPs and above are good, but they were doing good before.
I spent 17 years as Senior Engineer System Architecture, but they did not promote me for 8 years, even though I received a performing rating every year. Senior managers are manipulating. If you apply for internal job postings, they manipulate with other hiring managers. They manipulate the hiring panel not to select you. People in the Hyderabad location will never get promoted. If you are from a previous team of a senior manager or a friend, then he will hire you. There is no point in the rotation policy, indirectly pressuring or telling you to leave the company.
Chennai location is extremely polluted with non-technical, non-experienced senior managers and managers who are not experienced enough to handle experienced individuals. They do not know any technical details or coding, yet they become managers here. They only know how to play politics, not do good work. There are no monetary benefits for good or extra work. There is no opportunity for the next level for sure.
In team trips, they take money from you and take pictures as if it's company-sponsored. Everything shown is going from employees' pockets; nothing is free. They promise yearly two team outings but hardly take you for one. Work snatching is very common. There are no monetary benefits. Extremely high politics in the Chennai location.
They do not support you or stop talking to you, or intentionally neglect or do not help you so you can leave the company. IT company managers do not have technical knowledge at all; they are like sales managers.
The total atmosphere became toxic over 3 years. There is no onshore opportunity because if you want it, they think you want to settle abroad. Compensation is very low; you hardly get any money.
Hire experienced technical managers, not those who do not know how to code. This is not for sales managers.
Senior managers and managers stop applications by manipulating hiring managers or the hiring panel. If all managers become friends for mutual friendship, no one will be hired. Clearly, employees will go to other companies. Performing well but not getting promotion for a long time.
Extreme politics and manipulating people without telling the truth. Stop IJPs because it is harassment. Why send notifications to current managers with whom employees do not want to work?
It is easy for senior managers to manipulate applications and the hiring panel. Are all managers technically supporting the team?
Set a written exam for all senior managers and managers. Test them technically, perhaps via an automated exam on HackerEarth or HackerRank, and only hire them then. Otherwise, you are ruining the company culture.
The Verizon Pooled placement drive had about 3 rounds, I guess. Because I was rejected in round one, I don't have a clear idea about the later process. The expectations from them were way too high since there was no one who got shortlisted from the w
An online assessment consisting of MCQ-based questions related to GenAI and ML, followed by a coding assessment section. After clearing this round, a group discussion based on current trending topics. This is followed by a technical and HR interview.
The interview had 3 rounds. First round was an AMCAT test, which was mostly aptitude and logical. Second round was a technical interview on basic programming and DBMS concepts. Third round was an HR interview, which was very general.
