No pros anymore. All pros have become cons now.
I may have given 4 stars for job security and work-life balance as pros if December 12, 2017, was just another professional day.
Today, December 12th, 2017, was horrific and unexpected as Verizon arranged bouncers and hired third-party HR consultants to send deserving and recently awarded people home in an inhumane way.
The salary here is already peanuts, and people only choose to work here for the challenging and ever-learning job and work-life balance. However, these two pros have also highly disappointed us today after seeing some of our deserving colleagues forced and threatened to leave the organization with no notice at all (immediate exit by having bouncers surrounding the employee until they surrender their ID card and leave the company).
Everyone of us went to work just like any other day but were surprised to see hundreds of security folks and bouncers from 9 AM onwards.
Employees chosen as part of the RIF were called and asked to quit the organization and exit the facility within 20 minutes, which if not done would have led to mistreatment by the bouncers and the security.
The HRs were hired from a consultancy, not the organization's own HRs, in order to avoid questions.
It was really hard to see my deserving, very talented, and recently promoted colleagues leave with a heavy heart and tears, their dreams and aspirations shattered.
Meanwhile, a few non-deserving employees who only read the news and sleep and go for breaks as a daily routine were still continuing to do the same.
The management is so infected by dirty politics, and all we can see is that Verizon is heading towards a major disaster with all the talented folks being forced to quit in an inhumane manner. However, the folks who know nothing about the technology or the work they are part of still continue to survive by 'caressing' their managers in unethical ways.
This has motivated all the remaining deserving candidates to quit VZ soon, which ensures that the organization is only left with people who have no knowledge about the work they are supposed to do but never do.
Respect the people who worked and were part of the organization's growth by notifying them at least two weeks prior. A "next minute exit" is unacceptable and only paves the way for Verizon to face a huge disaster.
Verizon turned into a pub today with so many bouncers. Shame on Verizon for such an act, in spite of being one of the world's most admired telecommunications companies.
Failures due to Intel OnCue, AOL, and Yahoo acquisitions were due to blunders by higher management, not mistakes by any deserving employees. They have no idea what they plan to do with the companies they acquired.
They sold Terremark, which was acquired in 2011/12, now to IBM. They also sold all 3,000 employees who were part of that division to IBM for lower salaries. The SVP and VP have tie-ups with service companies like HCL, TCS, etc., that charge three times the VZ employee's salary for a vendor.
These higher management people have looted millions of dollars until now and have ultimately been forced to quit as well. This is again the carelessness of the EVP and the CEO. The blunders of the management have made thousands of deserving and innocent employees victims, to somehow make up for the loss.
Such a careless and disrespectful management. My eight years of tenure would definitely end in the next few months after witnessing the horror on December 12, 2017. I am sure many would decide to quit like me.
Simple 3 rounds: * One tech round * One manager round * One HR round Mostly, they will ask about the technology where we need to work. The manager round is about the work timing to adjust with our work hours.
It took a very long time for the interview to complete. A total of 120 people came for the interview. I reached the Chennai Verizon office at 10:30 AM. At 12:30 PM, two rounds of technical interviews were completed. I had to wait for the online En
I interviewed for a Java Developer role in Chennai. The technical interview was short and completed in a single day. The HR round was only for discussing salary, notice period, etc. It could be one-on-one or with 2-3 persons. The overall experience
