Good pay and medical benefits.
The vacation benefit is not as good as it used to be. It takes 5 years to get to 3 weeks vacation now. IT is all PowerPoint presentations and politics.
IT leaders will destroy anyone in IT that attempts to produce anything. They prefer to pay vendors for everything or let the business do it themselves until they can find a vendor to take it over. If you want to do IT work at Verizon, you will do better to get a technology job in one of the business groups, like marketing or finance.

Clean house of all IT senior management and managers that have been retained from the legacy wireline business.
Read the credo and embrace and start following it.
Stop nepotism and cronyism.
