The people in Via are invariably kind, smart, and helpful. This means that there's a lot of filtering in the hiring process, but once you get in, the environment is stimulating and nurturing, with everyone being gentle to each other, helping each other out, and teaching everyone else about technologies & techniques they know.
Also, the company is in the public transit sector, which has a more positive effect on society and on the environment than most of the high-tech industry.
As a start-up, the work-life balance is not as nice as in bigger companies. Also, it's hard to get a part-time job as a developer; it's only common here for QA engineers.
