Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, India

Process

The entire interview process took one and a half months.

  • Round 1: Techno-managerial telephonic
  • Round 2: Technical telephonic
  • Round 3: HackerRank test
  • Round 4: Technical F2F
  • Round 5: Technical F2F
  • Round 6: Managerial

The recruiter told me there would only be two in-office interviews (F2F), each lasting approximately two hours: one technical interview followed by a behavioral interview. However, upon arrival, there were two technical interviews followed by an interview with the team manager.

My interview experience was negative. The recruiter seemed unaware of the process or who was conducting the interviews. The interviewer for Round 5 was very rude and appeared determined to reject my responses, despite my efforts to explain. The other interviewers were cooperative. I felt the interviews went well, but a week later, HR informed me I was not selected to proceed.

I suggest being clearer about your requirements and avoiding unnecessary delays for candidates. The interview process is more than just one interview or one day; candidates experience significant pressure before, during, and after the interview until they receive feedback.
