Software Engineer New Grad Interview Experience

Process

The technical phone interview was good, but the coding challenge was very difficult.

It included seven questions:

  • Three coding questions
  • Four multiple-choice questions

All three coding questions were dynamic programming problems. One of the questions did not make sense, and I explicitly stated my concerns to the recruiter afterward. I mentioned that I did not understand the question and would like clarification if possible.

I did not receive any further communication except for an email stating I would not be moving forward.

Questions

Segregate 1s and 0s in an array using the least amount of possible swaps/moves.

Count the number of ways to arrange 1-N consecutive numbers in an array of length N such that the ith number does not go into the ith index of the array.
