Maybe because they don’t care about your technical skills, the interview is extremely easy.
If you get rejected, most likely it is because of other reasons, like chemistry or pay expectations.
The required number of years of working experience can be offset by your master or PhD degree.
Free drinks/snacks.
Highly professional tech people are not valued here. If you feel your tech skill surpassed your peers, you will be better off to find another external opportunity.
Your projects are most likely not as important as you think. Huge bonus cut this year.
The appraisal system has two components: what and how. "How" can be very subjective to your manager’s opinion about you, and you cannot argue about it once finalized. If you get a bad rating in "how" for unjustified reasons, you will get 0 bonus, 0 increase, and 0 RSU despite your huge contribution in "what". So, it is more like a political game here.
If you are good at tech and bad at politics, think twice before joining.
Directors/senior directors do not have much power in determining headcount/budget. They also need to push someone each year to bear the low rating.
All the best for your 2030 strategy.
