Pros

At first, I was incredibly excited to be part of the Visa team. I had a great manager who allowed us lots of technical freedom to innovate cutting-edge solutions for the company.

Cons

Innovation is actually NOT encouraged at Visa, despite all of the vapid catchphrases trotted out by the HR people. Their only job, it would seem, is to spy on and lay off employees.

Incompetence is rewarded greatly at Visa, as is being an Indian male.

The EVP of Technology clearly has an agenda to destroy the company while the CEO smugly watches.

Smart people have been run out the door over the last year. Others simply left around the holidays, without giving notice, to go elsewhere, since anywhere else is better.

This company is a terrible place to be if you are a software engineer, or smart, or innovative, or if you want to make the company better.

Advice to Management

While short-term greed is lining your pockets with gold right now, I'm betting this will come back on you someday. You all feel fine about tearing the company down because you perceive the market as being competitor-free. But one major breach is going to bring your whole house of cards down, and it will be on you all when it happens.
