Staff Engineer • Current Employee
Pros: - RSU were for management, but now capped.
- No one wants to work, so unanimous silent days.
- If you are very motivated, you can learn.
Cons: - Management is like that of Animal Farm: everyone is equal, but some are more equal than others.
- If you want to learn how to go into politics, this is the best place to start.
- You can do a PhD in caveman psychology.
- India vs. USA: They keep fighting like rabid dogs in upper management.
- To make India win this race, managers and especially directors will keep pushing you to work on useless stuff which has no impact eventually.
- Wanna be an AI company? It is not even a tech company.
- "Vibe coding" is pushed nowadays.
- Attrition rate is super high in leadership; daily, a new person will show up, make some North Star plan, and disappear.
- The entire company is reinventing the wheel in silos. Now they've hired some talent to solve this, but the fellow is too much into his own head to understand or listen to ground issues.
- Over scrutiny, no boundaries, and no love for tech.
- Race politics at its peak.
- Food is bad on most days. Everyone will go at the same time in the IDC, and then the whole building will smell like a dhaba.
- A few bright-eyed engineers are always downgraded by colleagues and seniors.
- The list can go on and on. The truth is this was not Sam's dream. In fact, Sam was not a techie but a capitalist, and like all capitalist sentiments, there are class divisions, race politics, and concentration of power and wealth.
