Process

Three rounds:

  1. Recruiter contacted me and conducted an initial screening interview. They requested me to apply for a position.

  2. Second round: A one-hour video screen-sharing interview with a Senior Software Engineer. It started with questions based on my resume, followed by many questions on Java OOPS and multithreading concepts. There were a few easy-level algorithm questions where I had to write code on the shared screen. Then, a series of questions on JavaScript and Node.js concepts.

After a week, I received a call for an onsite interview at the Sunnyvale, California office.

  1. Onsite interview: A total of 5 rounds with different people, each lasting 45-60 minutes.
  • The first was a System Design interview round, where I was asked to design a recipe website with different REST APIs to implement on a whiteboard.
  • Coding and technical questions on Java, including two LeetCode medium-level questions.
  • A technical round with a Senior Software Engineer, featuring many situation-based questions on Java and JavaScript design patterns. I was able to answer some but not all design pattern questions, as some were new to me.
  • A lunch interview with the Hiring Manager. The Hiring Manager described the team, technology stack, and responsibilities of the position. They also asked a few questions about my previous experience and areas of interest.
  • A coding and technical questions round with LeetCode medium and hard-level questions. I was able to answer all but one, for which I could not provide an optimized solution.

Questions

One of the questions I remembered was the Leetcode Meeting Room II question.
