Staying busy, developing communication skills, and learning how to de-escalate customer worries, etc.
Like anywhere else, about 20% of the employees do all the work, while the other 80% just stand there with an attitude. The scheduling is horrible and could definitely be done differently, to the company's benefit. We are not able to put up signs letting customers know which machines take cash, which results in angry guests. A lot of work to keep up with, all while helping customers every second because, for example, you need my "approval" for even buying things such as scissors. They seem to do the most for the least here and only stay in the problem, not ever listening to potential solutions (management, I'm referring to).
Listen to employees' suggestions and concerns. They are actually out on the floor hearing what the customers want.
Most of the suggestions cost nothing to the company.
Also, hold employees accountable. Don't let things go just because it would mean more work for you.
You apply online. If they're interested, you get a call to schedule your interview. A few days later, you attend the interview on the scheduled day. They call you back a few days later with a job offer.
The interview process for me was fairly simple, in my opinion. It involved only one phone interview and, if selected to continue after the initial call, one in-person interview.
I was asked about availability and flexibility, and given a brief overview of the job description. They provided an insight into the company and the specific role I was applying for. The process was straightforward, and I was hired on the spot.
