Easier than fast food.
But that’s about it.
Most Team Leads don’t understand their own rules and boundaries. Coaches don’t care, and the store manager is greedy.
When things get hard or bad in the store, you just get told that’s how it is. No manager cares enough to try and solve solutions.
And compensation isn’t enough for the people that deserve to be higher paid. Example: Stockmen, the guys pushing carts around. I thought that they got compensated pretty well for having to work in such harsh weather conditions and having to deal with customers often; they make the same as cashiers, aka basically the lowest paid.
Stop picking favorites. Evaluate your team leads and coaches.
And evaluate your staff. I know someone who’s worked in the deli for 14+ years. When they applied for a management position, they were the only one not to be interviewed. They are for sure one of the best employees in the deli.
You have some real gems that deserve raises and opportunities for better positions, but you ignore them. Eventually, they notice and just leave.
