Good benefits, good PTO (Personal Time Off), and PPTO (Protected Personal Time Off).
1-hour lunch.
Not by the book, but cooperate. Swears by the handbook. Very low standards, hostile management, high employee turnover rate, and a very unclean environment.
Late and lazy workers. Most employees are angry and hate to clean their workspaces. Management talks to employees like dogs. Retaliation and favoritism by management.
If you buy your coach a burger, she'd remove your disciplinary points. An employee can be terminated for Gross Misconduct, and if the coach plays favoritism, will hire them right back.
All in all, absolutely no company standards are followed at this company, but prior to employment, they make it seem the job is such a great place. Tons of cashier call-outs: 16 registers on 3 or 4 open. Team leads get yelled at often regarding work not done, but employees are not showing up to handle the influx of things required to run a Walmart. I would literally run the entire front end by myself.
In the very Walmart where a manager was gunned down by register #11. Not really a safe feeling being alone in such a large entity.
Stop talking to employees like dogs. Set company standards at the door and don't sway company standards for favoritism. Stop retaliating on employees. Provide proper professional training to all employees. Don't yell and curse at your workers. Teach all employees cleaning standards. Follow through with repairs on broken registers. Keep supplies available for registers.
I applied on the Walmart career site. I received a phone call and text to schedule an interview. After that, it went smoothly, sort of. However, it depends on whether the position is open.
I was asked about my prior jobs and work experience that would pertain to the job. I was asked how I would handle a distraught and angry customer. I was asked why I wanted to work for Walmart.
Average questions about being a leader, situation, and company policies. You can either apply internally or externally. Usually, internally, you have to have some front-end experience with money center and customer service.
