Pros

Pay is pretty good, higher than most if not all unskilled labor positions. Fixed work days is nice. You either work 4 days at 40 hours or 3 days for 36 hours.

Cons

Poor management and leadership. GMs don’t get to that position by caring; most only care about numbers. Walmart’s open-door policy is the fastest way to get yourself fired, and anything you talk to HR about will get passed around the whole building. Your manager will tell you to do something a specific way, and when you get caught doing it, you will get a write-up or fired for it.

Hours. Yes, the workdays and fixed schedules are nice, but if you are only getting 20-something hours a week because of severe overstaffing, your experienced and skilled associates are going to stop caring and leave.

Safety. They will say safety is number 1 when someone gets hurt and fire associates for having accidents, but when an operations manager pulls pallets off a trailer without stopping and drops them, hitting an associate, they do nothing.

Advice to Management

Hire and promote associates to managers that actually care about doing what is right.
