Pros

Some talented developers to learn from.

Opportunity to work on very large projects reaching millions of customers.

Pay seems slightly above market average.

Cons
  • Underperformers go unnoticed for far too long and never seem to face repercussions.

This leads to more competent employees having to pick up their slack and overwork themselves.

  • Progression seems solely based on "time spent at the company" rather than on achievements or performance.

It is very rare to see employees promoted into higher positions.

  • There is a distinct lack of in-person office culture, especially on the software development side.

Expect most of your colleagues to be working from home every day.

  • Work-life balance is sometimes not respected, with higher-up positions expected to attend meetings early in the morning or later into the night.
Advice to Management

Introduce some form of regular, formal performance reviews to ensure underperforming employees get the assistance they need and high-achieving employees can be recognized for the value they have contributed to the company.
