I had a phone interview with an engineer from Wealthfront.
It is quite sad that there are still companies who require you to answer simple data structure and algorithm questions in the language of their choice.
In terms of Wealthfront, they require you to implement all of your solutions in Java, which is not my primary language. Therefore, much time was wasted in syntax corrections and debugging during the interview, rather than actual problem-solving or learning about a company and its product.
I was also given a bad impression by the company by having a very aloof interviewer who did not seem at all excited by the company or its mission.
Overall, the title of the position should be changed to 'Java Developer' rather than Software Engineer.
