A good work-life balance is encouraged, at least in the part of Wells Fargo that I work, from the top down. If you want to work long hours, that's up to you. But basically, if you get your work done, you're good. The managers I've worked under here have been consistently good to work for.
Very hard to get promoted.
Slow to adopt the latest technology, but that's understandable in my opinion. This is a big company, so changes are comparable to 'turning a battleship' - it takes a while.
But also, security prevents fast adoption of the latest tech.
No phone pre-screen. In-person interview with hiring manager plus speakerphone interview with another manager. Some technical questions with the first one. Mostly situational questions with the second one. One hour total.
There are four rounds in the interview process. The first two rounds are technical rounds based on the tech stack. The managerial round will ask about processes. Once you are selected, it is followed by HR.
The first round is a pure technical round and covered all concepts in Java, Spring, microservices, and the integration of environments. The second round is the manager round, related to roles and responsibilities and LLD.
