Mobile Developer Interview Experience - Ukraine

January 1, 2018
Neutral ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Started the process by sending my CV using the company website. The recruiter was a nice person to chat with (communication was through email).

  1. Screening interview.
  2. Tech task, not difficult.
  3. Tech meeting with two engineers. Average interview with good questions and a live-coding task (online shared code editor).
  4. Product interview with a product manager and designer. Questions about motivation, building apps through a user's view, and UI/UX questions.
  5. Interview with the Engineering VP and Business Team lead. Also questions about motivation and analyzing previous projects and experience.

All interviews were approximately 1.5-2 hours. All interview times were changed after confirmation. But, I need to mention, shifts were in my previously submitted allowable time ranges.

In the end, no offer despite completely positive feedback except from one last interviewer. The conclusion from him: "showed not enough motivation to work in our company". Which, in my opinion, is a little odd after sending my CV as a starting point and spending hours and hours on interviews and the tech task.

In general, an interesting experience with a sudden end.

Questions

Personally, the live-coding session was probably the most nervous part.
