Pros
  • Free breakfast and lunch once a week.
  • Team planning abroad, almost a holiday, and they give you a daily allowance (cash upfront).
  • Office sauna (never used, very creepy location in the kitchen), as a woman I would never use it.
  • Free alcohol.
  • Decent maternity/paternity leave.
Cons
  • Monzo, Sterling, and Actual banks pay better.
  • Toxic leadership (Harsh the only exception).
  • Spending £4 million of customer money on flying 3000 people around the world for parties twice a year, including flights, hotel, food, and alcohol. A member of leadership was the DJ.
  • "No drama, good karma" slogan, but they still cover up a lack of policy, drama, bullying, and racism.
  • Managers spend more time glorifying doing the work than actually working.
  • Witnessed bullying, harassment, racism, and sexism.
  • Forcing employees to embrace woke culture to attract talent, as so many people leave. The industry knows Wise cannot retain talent.
  • Always having the feeling that you will be fired; the worst place I've ever worked for.
  • Big push on mental health, but it's all a front for articles and LinkedIn posts.
  • Cannot pay people correctly; huge problems with the most basic operations.
  • Pulled out of countries because they could not support the business model anymore.
  • Micromanaging.
  • HR is a joke! If you have a disability, do not hold your breath that Wise will help.
  • Stock awarded at the 12-week mark (30k), which replenishes every 4 years. Others give you stock every year.
  • No bonuses (business needs to save money), clearly by spending so much money on parties/dinners abroad.
Advice to Management

Stop being a cult and start acting like a business!

Stop spending customers' money on BS and spend on your employees who grow the business!

This is a mission you will never win.

Replace the CEO. Replace the CPO.

Taking stabs at HSBC recently made you look like children. It wasn't funny and it was copying another business.

Wise is 12 years old and still not even close to achieving the mission.
