Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks.

First initial screen was friendly and helpful. Then they wanted 5 more interviews:

  • Front-end coding challenge
  • Back-end coding challenge
  • In-person AI-assisted coding
  • Then talk to the PM
  • Then a final interview

I failed the first coding challenge even though it was 95% completed. I don't know why any companies are still doing coding challenges when AI writes our code now. Just skip ahead to that one.

Questions

They asked about a relevant project I had worked on previously and dug in on details on how and what decisions were made on it.
