Software Applications Engineer Interview Experience - Vancouver, British Columbia

September 1, 2021
Neutral ExperienceNo Offer

Process

The interview process includes an initial HR interview, followed by four meetings:

  • Two one-on-one behavioral interviews with managers.
  • An OOP panel interview.
  • A React live coding panel interview.

My advice is not to be too creative in the interviews; just do literally what is asked, based on my feedback.

They state they are an equal opportunity employer, but I had nine people interview me, and only one was a woman.

They use a proprietary 'language' where you code by clicking through drop-down menus. This seems like a career killer for engineers and is probably fine if you hope to do project management one day.

Questions

Behavioural:

  • Standard STAR questions.
  • Name the VIBE principles and core values.
