Employee perks are nice. Work/life balance is good. Opportunity to learn new things – that's all.
Compensation may not be as competitive compared to other employers in the area. Managers seem to care only for the direct reports with whom they are in good terms or maybe friends from some of their previous employers. For the rest of the people on the team, it's just about hard work, taking up new challenges, and at the end, don't expect any recognition or promotion for all the good work you deliver.
No recognition for any better job done, no growth expectations. Even after putting the managers through all the leadership trainings, I guess nothing really changes if the nature of the person is like that.
Stop hiring bad managers and try to recognize and appreciate the value a person brings to the table and the company. Or else, soon this company will be like one of your competitors whom you keep comparing.
