I applied on the Yahoo MyWorkday site and received a phone screen invitation one week later.
During the phone screen, I was asked about many Linux commands, some system and networking concepts, and topics related to my experience.
In the technical panel (second interview), I was asked a few behavioral questions, questions about my experience, how to apply a configuration to many machines (with follow-up questions including scaling and error handling), and finally, a coding section.
In the HR interview (third interview), I was asked a "bunch" of lightweight behavioral questions. I consider them lightweight because they were not as challenging as typical behavioral questions; they were more relaxed and geared towards getting to know me.
I received the offer one week after the third interview.
What exactly happens when you start a Linux machine?
How to apply a config to many machines? On a larger scale? If you can't use ssh scp? If a machine dies? How to ensure the machines have applied the config? How and when to report errors to whom?
What to do when your boss gives you a very tight schedule?
