Applied through referral.
Two phone interviews, both technical.
- One focused on web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), Node.js, protocols, testing, etc.
- The second focused on data structures.
Both interviews required coding on Collabedit.
For the second interview, I solved the problem with O(n log n) time complexity, but the interviewer wanted O(n), so I was rejected.
Questions
HTML5, CSS3, Javascript (ES6), Node.js, protocols, testing, etc., require intense knowledge to answer.
Search algorithms and trees.

Pros: Engineers are intelligent, hard-working, and experienced.
Lots of resources are available to employees, and the free food is great.
On large products, your work will be seen by millions of people.
Cons: Stock price continues to be unspectacular, and the murky outlook makes it dangerous to join now. Six months from now, the situation will either be much better or much worse, but will probably at least be clarified.

Pros: You are allowed to figure out your own ideal balance between work and play.
Hours are very flexible, time off is generous. Work early or late as you prefer. Many work from home.
Cons: Poor direction. The last few years have seen projects released with no follow-up or maintenance. Other projects were restarted several times or cancelled close to release.
There is no clear plan of attack for Yahoo's comeback. Subsequently, we have lost almost all the "big name" web devs who used to be a selling point to incoming engineers.
