Process
To start with, the HR at Yahoo are very helpful. They help solve all the doubts you have. On the day of my interview, I, along with 10-12 other candidates, were taken into a room where there was lunch and a small presentation on what the company does. It was followed by 4 rounds of technical interview. The topics ranged from data structures and algos to design questions and optimization questions.
The interviewers were quite friendly. Overall, a great experience.

Too many changes at the top in the last 5 years, but still got life

Pros: Despite the attrition, the engineers there are smart and passionate.
You have the opportunity to learn to solve scalability problems that few companies have to deal with.
The recent instability has created career opportunities for those who aggressively seek it.
Cons: The revolving door at the executive level in the last 5 years has made it impossible to execute on any strategic plans, because every new CEO or C-level executive will reorg and disrupt everything that was in motion.

Good workplace, positive attitude, and still growing

Pros: Excellent work culture, a friendly work environment, good career opportunities, and a very good learning curve.
Cons: Monetary compensation and yearly bonuses.
Yet to make that one striking product that will revolutionize Silicon Valley and make Yahoo stand out.

Massive scale, great culture, smart people, but too much red tape, which makes it impossible to move fast
Principal Software Engineer • Former Employee

Pros: Great learning environment.
Opportunities to work on products at a scale that most other companies do not have.
Great work/life balance.
Above average pay package, great benefits (401k matching).
Cons: Promotion and hiring inside Yahoo! is now more or less a question of knowing someone, not of being the best at your field. Hopefully, Marissa will address this.
Most work is maintenance while developers and engineers wait for the next round of management changes. Starting something new is guaranteed to be shut down as soon as the next reorg happens.
Politicking, backstabbing, no directorial and above direction, constant goalpost changing, cronyism.
