Opportunities to work in many exciting new technologies. There's an incorrect perception that Y! is not innovating sufficiently, but this is an incorrect perception. This perception is motivated by challenges in execution and ability to drive new innovations to market.
Great diversity. Y! still has many opportunities to work with people from different parts of the world.
Too many turf issues among middle management, especially among Directors and Vice Presidents. These wars result in an inability to innovate and execute.
Lack of accountability. There's no penalty for failures, thus it has become a culture where results are not important anymore.
Too perception-driven. Talents with capability but poor people skills are never promoted, resulting in the loss of valuable talents and a culture where employees care more about good people relationships than delivering user-stunning innovations.
Two top priorities:
Just like other interviews for software positions, I was asked to code on paper to solve some common quizzes in algorithms and information retrieval. Except for that, some open questions were also asked. But none of them were very tough. If your work
Three rounds of interviews. 1. Basic C++ questions and LeetCode-level coding problems. Examples include finding the longest palindrome, changing the least number of characters to make a string a palindrome, and adding the least number of characters
Asked some coding questions. You answer them in whatever language you choose on a text editor. If you get questions right, you are given more and asked for runtimes.
