Software Developer Interview Experience - Moscow, Russia

Process

The process is quite general: first, you contact a recruiter (in my case, it was some consultant from a recruiting company), then you pass several interviews.

As I live not in a city with the company office, initial interviews were via Skype:

  1. Initial technical interview (Skype, ~1 hour) - a technical specialist asks you to solve some task and asks related questions. The code is written in some online text editor with shared access.
  2. One more remote technical interview (Skype, 3x~1 hour) - the same as above, but this time 3 specialists subsequently ask their questions.
  3. On-site technical interview (Moscow, ~3-4 hours) - you get an invitation, travel to their head office (if necessary), then you get an interview with 3-5 specialists. Coding is done on a piece of paper or whiteboard.

Questions

There is some text. You need to find and print out all words starting with 'a', and the most frequently used word.

Remove subsequent repeating symbols from an input string; e.g.: "aabbbcaaccb" -> "abcacb"

Shared_ptr internals - implement your own shared_ptr (C++).

For all questions related to algorithms, their complexity must be calculated.
