Yandex has millions of users, and it's really cool doing something that really matters for that many people.
Challenging tasks. Very competent colleagues. Excellent working atmosphere. Flexible hours. Great office.
Maybe that's hard to believe, but I don't see any cons. Yandex is a really great place to work.
Sometimes I have the feeling that Yandex managers always want to create the best product from the very beginning. It seems good, but it slows down releasing new services and features. I'm afraid that "Move fast, break things" is definitely not about Yandex.
1 HR call, 2 standard coding DSA rounds, and a 1-hour talk with the team lead about: - My experience - Past projects' architecture (public API maintenance, microservices, etc.) - How the web works (from DNS to sockets)
The schedule and communication were good. I had four coding interviews, with Easy/Medium LeetCode questions. I also had a design interview, where I designed a queue system. However, feedback took a long time, about 3-4 weeks.
1 easy LeetCode task. Signed NDA, so I can't say more. However, I wish you good luck and all the best in your interview. Find if string 'a' contains string 'b' as a palindrome.
