I applied for a full-stack engineering role and completed the interview process. After finishing the final step, including a four-hour final interview, I was told the team would get back to me soon.
They sent an email later on, saying that timelines were changing and I had to be more patient. They sent a couple of these emails over two months, reminding me that they hadn’t forgotten me.
Eventually, I was invited to speak with the hiring manager, which felt more like a casual conversation than a decision-making step. After that, there was silence for another two weeks.
When I finally followed up, I received an email saying they had closed the position. No explanation was given for the long delay or why they interviewed people for a role they weren’t sure they’d fill. It was incredibly frustrating to invest time and emotional energy into a process that ended with the role being canceled.
