Process
I applied for a different team initially, but was turned down after the final stage. However, they felt that I would be a better fit for another team, which I was put in touch with.
- 1st: Call with recruiter
- 2nd: Call with hiring manager. I expected this to just be a chat but it turned into a coding problem, which I was able to solve.
- 3rd: Call with an engineer; online coding problem.
- 4th: Virtual on-site interview consisting of a problem-solving stage, two back-to-back system design interviews, and a final cultural fit interview.
Interviewers were all very nice and helpful if you got stuck anywhere along the way. They're more focused on how you solve the problems given than actually getting to a solution, at least in my case.
Questions
Know your LeetCode easy questions for the initial stages.
Queues, basic system architecture, and how a system should scale with additional load.

Good work-life balance.
Additional perks such as an on-call support allowance.
Cons: Compensation can be misleading — initially attractive, but not sustainable if the company finds a cheaper replacement.
Lack of transparency from management; responses are often diplomatic rather than direct.
Senior management appears profit-driven at the expense of employee welfare — on-call benefits were removed while work expectations increased.
Despite consistently strong performance over more than two years, I was pressured to resign without a clear explanation.
My reporting manager began to harass me, calling at odd hours and scolding without cause for over three months.
The manager withheld my on-call benefits while I continued performing those duties; when I raised the issue, the explanation was vague and evasive.
Unfortunately, this treatment seems to be ongoing for other teams as well in the company.
