A week after the interview with the hiring manager, I got a call to let me know they were happy to move forward with the interview process. I received schedule confirmation for both the coding and system design interviews, back to back.
Then, just 3 hours before the interviews on the day, they called me and said they had stopped hiring for that position and cancelled my interviews. Period. No apologies or whatsoever.
Unsurprisingly, that position was posted again a few days later.
I guess they should have talked straight to my face if I was unfit and admitted they made a mistake to schedule me for those interviews. I would have felt better.
Interview with hiring manager is straightforward. They asked about common things like past challenging projects, opinion about team culture, etc.
