The interview process was very standard for a tech corporation. There was a coding assignment, untimed, which was actually well designed. After a phone call and the coding problem, I went in person to the company. The in-person interview was an entire afternoon, about 3 hours. I was given a tour of all the main areas – an open-floor plan, modern workplace. Everyone I met was nice and down-to-earth.
By the end of it, I was sure I had the position, but I got turned down for it. They told me they were very impressed, but I was told they were going with someone they had interviewed a couple of weeks before and were already in the process of signing papers while I was being interviewed on-site. This came off, at best, as a lack of communication on their end, and at worst, a scummy corporate hiring tactic. They said they might reach out in 3 months; I haven't heard from them since.
