You will often hear from leads, «this strength comes from all of you», but they won't tell you the remaining «we use you as fuel for our own ambitions».
You can do your best, but the outcome of your career falls into someone else's mood. Expect that when considering to join.
The company will not care about anything else except numbers. Therefore, they speak words you want to hear in order to squeeze the fuel out of you.
And when the math ain't mathing, they will try to pull everything together by wide layoffs & salary cutoffs.
It's repeated in circles over and over again, never searching for where the real source of the leak is.
Put specialists first. Without them, you won't have any of the innovations you're looking for.
