I have been associated with Zendesk for close to one year now. Being part of a team catering to internal customers, I have been interacting with not just product teams in Singapore, but also from other locations such as Melbourne and Copenhagen.
I loved this global exposure and also understood that, in general, the culture across the organization is empathetic, supportive, and encouraging.
I love the product that we are building, but the management is not very supportive or encouraging. At multiple occasions, I got the feeling that my concerns are falling on deaf ears. The management is not bold to take a stand, and most concerning, some managers are bringing in a blame culture (which I felt is just against the overall Zendesk culture).
Probably, that's the reason a lot of folks from my existing team either moved out or moved to other teams.
So far, only one concern: people management.
We need good people managers. Also, gathering feedback through Glint surveys is not the right way to get an uninfluenced assessment.
