Not all teams may have what you're looking for. For example, if you're looking for a team with a strong engineering focus, you need to be deliberate about looking for a team like that. Otherwise, you may end up in a team with more product focus than engineering.
The office is smack in the middle of the Tenderloin and can be dangerous at times. Maybe the office has moved since I was there.
