Great work-life balance; they leave this up to your manager, so it could vary from team to team.
Cool tech stack to work with; depends on the org, but there is a lot to learn.
Employees there are great.
Salary is not the most competitive; at least mine wasn't. I had to push for a promotion, and I'm below the average for their pay range.
Ever since the private equity buyout, senior leadership has completely changed. The company used to have a great balance between business goals and employees' interests. Now it's completely focused aggressively on the business side. They had a round of layoffs because senior leadership overestimated attrition, all while hiring in "growth" regions. And their redundancy package is below average for a company of this size.
Three years ago, I would have easily given a 5-star review, but the company isn't what it used to be. And if you're made redundant, you won't be taken care of.
Honestly, the whole senior leadership needs restructuring. Your vision for the company could sink it. You're ruining the culture from an employee level. Stop being so aggressive with the business goals and have a more balanced approach. This company is profitable; these layoffs were unnecessary. Some great engineers were let go for a below-average redundancy and a terrible vision.
