The interview process was good. A recruiter reached out to me, and the interview was scheduled on the fly, as per my convenience. So, it was okay and fast.
But the interviewer was of the same level as me, and he was not well-qualified for taking the interview, because interviewing is also a skill.
And if you are a good engineer, it does not mean you are a good interviewer too.
I must urge Zepto HR: at least you should not assign everyone as an interviewer. Or, please keep two interviewers so that while giving feedback, both feedbacks are taken.
Mostly on writing polyfills for:
array.reduce()Promise.all()A question on object destructuring.
Some conceptual checks on let, const, and var.
I gave all the answers and solved all the questions with a minor mistake, which was not too big.
As I said, the interviewer was not qualified for taking the interview (I checked his LinkedIn profile) and hence I was rejected.
IMO, if there were two interviewers, then I think I would have had a chance for the next round.
